The Safe Computing website has a new page - Legitimate Email that Might Appear Phishy. It lists email messages that are legitimate but have been mistaken by some for phishing emails.
One of these is a message sent today by HR to all U-M employees enrolled in the university's Hyatt Legal Services benefit.
The email message is about a membership number subscribers will need to access benefits, and it is completely legitimate.
Safe Computing offers another helpful resource on identifying phishing emails and how to report them. Visit the Phishing and Suspicious Email webpage.
