Important changes to pager repairs, reprogramming, and new pager pickups

Pager-related services – including exchanges or reprogramming of existing pagers, or delivery of new pagers – are no longer available at the Michigan Medicine Security office, nor at the Taubman Center. Instead, those needing pager-related assistance should do one of the following:

If you need to replace an existing pager that is lost or malfunctioning:

If you are on the main Medical Campus:

  • 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday

Visit the HITS “Help Me Now” Walk-up site at Towsley Center, G2413.
(Located near the University Hospital cafeteria, about 100 feet south of the ‘fork’ sculpture)

  • Nights, Weekends, Holidays

Call the HITS Service Desk at 734-936-8000 and request a replacement pager.
One will be delivered to your location by a member of the HITS Device Support team.

If you are in any other location:

  • Visit the HITS Paging Office at Domino's Farms

If you need to add/remove paging GROUPS on an existing pager:

Your device will need to be dropped off/picked up at one of two locations:

  • The HITS ‘Help Me Now’ location in the Towsley Center, G2413

(Located near the University Hospital cafeteria, about 100 feet south of the ‘fork’ sculpture)
Hours: TUESDAY and THURSDAY ONLY, 2-3 p.m.

  • The HITS Paging Office at Domino’s Farms

If you need to request a new (original) pager:

Use thePager Request Form to:

  • Get a Pager.
  • Change the name on an existing pager.
  • Change the pager type
  • Change the account number/department.

Note: Only Authorized Contacts may submit a Pager Request. If you have trouble using the online request form, or if you need help figuring out who the Authorized Contact is for your department, please call 734-647-4886

If you need to pick up a new (original) pager after it has been requested:

You may pick up your pager at either:

  • The HITS ‘Help Me Now’ location in the Towsley Center, G2413*

Hours: TUESDAY and THURSDAY ONLY, 2-3 p.m.

Notes about NEW (original) pager pickups:

*The default location for NEW (original) pager pickups is the “Help Me Now’ location at Towsley. If you would like to pick up your NEW pager at the HITS Paging Office at Domino’s Farms (instead of at Towsley), please call 734-647-4886, and select Option #6 to notify a member of the HITS Paging Team.

If a NEW pager is not picked up within 14 days, the pager will be removed from the paging system and a new request will be required.
