In March 2020, Help Me Now temporarily closed to ensure staff safety and to repurpose efforts to support an unprecedented increase in phone, chat and ticket volumes caused by the pandemic.
“We are proud to reopen Help Me Now as we know how valuable the service is to our onsite faculty, staff and learners,” said Emily Fuentes, director of HITS Customer Success. “We are reopening our doors this month to ensure personalized and convenient IT support.”
To address COVID-19 risks, Help Me Now locations were updated with plastic barriers for desks and counters, sanitizer and wipes, mask requirements and six-foot floor markers. To maintain appropriate distance, the offices will operate at a four-person maximum capacity. Additional customers are asked to help us stay safe by waiting just outside the office.
“While pandemic challenges and current staffing levels will limit our hours, the team looks forward to working with customers in person again,” Fuentes said.
HITS support is available 24/7 via the Michigan Medicine Help Center at help.med.umich.edu.
