MiChart Upgrade a Success

06/15/2020

The latest system upgrade for MiChart, Michigan Medicine's electronic health record, was successfully completed at 3:40 a.m. on Saturday, June 13.

The most notable changes and enhancements include:

  • Improved order search features to boost frequent searches and account for typos
  • A new layout in the inpatient Care Plan to review and manage the plan, document progress and resolve the plan, and write the care plan note
  • Increased operation of the LDA Avatar assessment and display
  • LOS (level of service) activity moves to the Visit Taskbar from the Wrap Up tab to be easily available to enter and display at any time during the visit

Visit the MiChart 2020 Upgrade webpage where additional updates will continue to be posted. Those who have not completed their eLearning should do so within the MLearning portal. To access the Upgrade Tip Sheets, visit the Upgrade Training Resources webpage.

Many thanks to all teams who contributed to making the Go-Live a success.

Updates to the MiChart with Video shortcut occurred during the downtime. To avoid service interruptions, at least 15 minutes prior to scheduled visits restart your VPN connection and follow the prompts to reboot to complete the update. Once complete, launch the MiChart with Video desktop shortcut to verify functionality.

Previously created shortcuts will not work. You will need to recreate the shortcut from the updated MiChart with Video shortcut. If you get a Videoconference dialog error, please run maintenance and try again and refer to the How to run maintenance document for guidance.
