Michigan Medicine was once again recognized as one of the nation’s “Most Wired” health care organizations by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME).

The Most Wired program conducts an annual survey to assess how effectively health care organizations use advanced technologies in clinical and business programs to improve the health of their communities. Health systems are recognized for their innovative and impactful use of technology.

“Receiving this award represents the ongoing efforts of our IT staff to achieve meaningful clinical and efficiency outcomes, and keep us at the forefront of healthcare technology,” said Andrew Rosenberg, M.D., Michigan Medicine’s chief information officer. “Through secure, reliable, interoperable and cost-effective solutions, we proudly enable Michigan Medicine caregivers to deliver the best care possible to our patients.”

Michigan Medicine excels in several areas reflective of the program’s “Level 7 Special Recognition,” including:

  • Virtual patient visits and patient portals
  • Secure communication and authentication
  • Insightful analytics and data management

Information technology has been exponentially relevant in maintaining a high quality of care at Michigan Medicine throughout the pandemic. As the need for secure and accessible telemedicine increased, the organization worked to expand parameters in order to serve patients and their health care teams.
